Costruzioni animate

by Marco Nicoletti

The modern mind is set before the riddle of architecture, and tends to imagine the houses and the cities similar to machines to live in, where near the tangible signs left by the affection it would add, as time goes by, the variations of taste and technological progress.
But such an interpretation, points out by Elemire Zolla, even if conceived by the middle-class common sense appears to be superficial and inadequate when we trespass the borders of modern history and turn to the origins, when the practical function of inhabitations was superfluous and accidental.
Motivated by this clear paradox, Marco Nicoletti follows the tracks of a simbolism which comes unchanged to modern times from the the ancient ages and decodifies the sacred nature of some shelters, highlighting their common feature: the imitation on earth of a superior cosmic order.
